PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE IN GARMENT CONSTRUCTION

Midas is enrolling students into their PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE IN GARMENT CONSTRUCTION COURSE.

This 16-month programme introduces students to contemporary manufacturing, finishing processes, and emerging trends in apparel production.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to successfully create garments as per the layouts and specifications.

We have brand new and latest sewing machines with top fashion lecturers that will assist you to achieve your professional dreams in the fashion industry.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

At the end of the course students will be able to:

• Identify and explain how to choose, use and maintain various tools and equipment that are employed for garment construction
• Acquire knowledge and develop skills in the construction of stitches and seams.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skill in the construction of facings, collars, lapels, sleeves, pockets
• Demonstrate knowledge and skill in fabric layout, cutting and sewing of actual garments.

In this course you will learn:

The step-by-step approach adopted made MIDAS a well-diversified center to equip young men & women from every community.

1. GARMENT CONSTRUCTION SEWING: Students will be given detailed knowledge of industrial sewing machine operation, seam finishes, hems and zipper installation techniques, hand sewing techniques, and serging techniques to complete a Knit T-Shirt.

2. DIRECT APPROACH/FREE HAND CUTTING, Utilizing the skills gained in introductory sewing, students will move on to basic 3- D garment construction. Through classroom demonstrations, students will learn how to work with real production patterns towards the completion of a unisex button-down shirt. Skills covered include creating collars, sleeve plackets/cuffs, setting in a sleeve and more. Upon completion of this class, students will confidently sew with professional precision.

As part of our long-term plan to become Self-sufficient and self-sustainable as a vocational institution,we put into motion initiatives to get some equipment necessary and better infrastructure for the school to create a social business to help support the sustainability journey of becoming self-sufficient.

Sustainability is a key to human capacity development, so is our goal to see to it that the school is sufficiently sustained to be able to continue its role in human capacity and skill development in transformative ways, and plan for future improvements is based on our immediate need for space (infrastructure & learning equipment) as our student body continues to grow. We have develop a systems to Support and enhance student Learning currently and we have Improved and refine best Instructional Practices to reflect a globally-minded curriculum of employable skills training.

Midas has been capable of providing cutting-edge training that responds to industry demands, giving employable skills thanks to the generosity of you and everyone investing in changing lives. As we are transforming lives by giving opportunities to everyone whilst spreading God’s and his message.
